Grupo Ubuntu (Ubuntu) was founded in 2016 by seasoned oil and gas executives, aiming at developing oil and gas projects in Brazil.
The first concessions acquired by the group were the Rio Mariricu and Urutau fields in 2017. In 2018, we conducted our first workover in the Urutau field.
In October 2021, Grupo Ubuntu acquired from the PTEEP group 100% of the capital stock of Partex Brasil Ltda. and Partex Brasil Operações Petrolíferas Ltda., subsequently renamed Mandacaru Energia Ltda. and SPB (Serviços de Petróleo Brasileiro Ltda.).
Mandacaru successfully became the Grupo Ubuntu branch in charge of oil production in marginal and mature fields.
Since Mandacaru was founded, after the acquisition of Partex Brasil, the production of the Cardeal and Colibri fields has increased from 150 bopd to 350 bopd. Mandacaru holds 50% in consortium with Petroreconcavo (Potiguar E&P) on the Cardeal and Colibri concessions, along with 100% on the Rio Mariricu and Urutau concessions.
In 2021, Grupo Ubuntu acquired the Dó-Ré-Mi field in a consortium along with Central Oeste Óleo e Gás Ltda, with great potential for natural gas production.
In 2022, Ubuntu acquired from Petrobras’ Divestment Plan two exploratory concessions, Onshore of the Paraná Basin, located in the state of São Paulo, with natural gas exploratory potential that can also be used for CO2 storage projects (CCS), under development by Manacá CCS LTDA., a branch of Grupo Ubuntu.
In 2023, Grupo Ubuntu completed the acquisition of 100% of the capital stock of PTTEP Brasil Investimentos em Exploração e Produção de Petróleo e Gás Ltda. (PTTEP Brasil). As part of this transition, PTTEP Brasil has officially been renamed Aquamarine Exploração Ltda (Aquamarine). Mandacaru Energia is fully compliant with ANP requirements and has complete engineering, HSE, and back-office processes to be able to efficiently manage onshore operations. Our passionate and specialized team is committed to boosting our production.
