The Urutau Field, with a development area of 27.63 km², is located in the onshore portion of the Potiguar Basin, in the municipalities of Pendências and Macau, approximately 203 km from the city of Natal, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
The Urutau field concession was obtained in the 2017 marginal field round. There are 6 wells in the concession, but only 3 wells are active. Presenting a reservoir BS&W of approximately 44%.
Before the acquisition of the field by Mandacaru Energia, the wells and field were idle, with no profitability. Currently, the field is active and producing, showing that the optimization of resources applied to mature and marginal fields is economically viable.
